Andermatt kicks off the winter season on 13 December – with stars, culinary highlights and new lifestyle experiences

The 2025/26 winter season in Andermatt begins with strong signals for winter sports, gastronomy and lifestyle. While the first slopes on the Gemsstock are already open, the entire Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis ski area will officially start operations on 13 December. At the same time, the Furkagasse will transform into a festive winter stage – featuring an exclusive season opening concert by Marius Bear, the first-ever IGNIV Winter Pop-up, and new social spaces for lovers of great food and good company.
Season kick-off with music and gastronomy: Marius Bear and the IGNIV Winter Pop-up
The start of the winter season becomes an experience in Andermatt: On 13 December, Marius Bear will provide a musical highlight in the Furkagasse. From early afternoon, ice-sculpting, two large, interconnected igloos, an LED swing and creative hands-on activities invite families and guests to explore and enjoy.
A highlight for foodies: IGNIV Andermatt will launch its first IGNIV Winter Pop-up – directly in front of the Michelin-starred restaurant by Andreas Caminada. On offer: raclette, mulled wine and signature cocktails from the IGNIV bar.
At the same time, the new Owner and Guest Services Office at Piazza Gottardo invites visitors to enjoy homemade mulled wine in a festive atmosphere. Up to four-metre-high illuminated alpine animal sculptures create a visual highlight for young and old.

Fine Dining: Six Michelin stars for the destination
A culinary cornerstone remains IGNIV Andermatt by Andreas Caminada. Opened only last winter, head chef Valentin Sträuli has already been awarded two Michelin stars and 16 GaultMillau points. Altogether, the destination now boasts six Michelin stars – a strong statement for gourmets and lovers of fine cuisine.
