On Saturday, 4 July 2026, Clean-Up Day took place on the Oberalp Pass. Thanks to the fantastic commitment of over 85 volunteers, the event was a resounding success. Together, they collected 91 kg of rubbish (623 litres), making a valuable contribution to the protection of our unique mountain environment.

The waste collected included, amongst other things, around 2,000 cigarette ends, 554 food packaging
items, 200 pieces of building rubble, 110 items of disposable tableware, and various components of
ski and sports equipment. These figures impressively demonstrate just how important such initiatives
are for the preservation of our natural environment.

The positive atmosphere throughout the day was particularly heartening. The great willingness
to help, the team spirit and the shared interest in treating our environment responsibly made
the event a special experience for everyone involved.

The participants were divided into three groups, each covering different routes around the Oberalp
Pass. The routes offered a varied opportunity to tidy up the surrounding area. After the clean-up
operation was completed, all the groups met at the Schneehüenerstock-Express valley station for
lunch together, to round off the day’s efforts in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Clean-Up Day was organised jointly by Andermatt Responsible, Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG and
the Summit Foundation, and took place as part of the Clean-Up Tour 2026.

The next Clean-Up Day is scheduled for Saturday 3 July 2027. Further information will be published
