Igi Zopp new general manager of the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun

The Board of Directors of Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG has
appointed the experienced practitioner Igi Zopp (54) as new general manager. Zopp, a native
of Andermatt, is currently in charge of the Office of Civil Defence and Military of the Canton
of Uri, as well as head of the cantonal senior management. He has many years of experience
as an officer of the Swiss Army and as head of the Army’s building management division. He
graduated from the Lucerne College of Professional Education and Training with a degree in
information technology, with post-graduate study in business administration. From 2011 to
2016, he was president of the Skiclub Gotthard Andermatt and for two years served as head
of downhill skiing at the Central Switzerland Ski Association. He played a role in various large
sporting events on the respective organising committees.
In this restructured position, Zopp will be responsible for overseeing cableways and snow
sports operations, planning strategic investment projects, managing up to 230 employees
and handling regional cooperation with Sedrun and Disentis. CEO Raphael Krucker on the
appointment: “We were very impressed by his wealth of experience with large-scale projects,
in sports, and in challenging leadership positions. With Igi Zopp, we were able to bring
someone on board who knows the region from Andermatt to Disentis and is ideally
networked here.” Zopp will take up his position on 1 January 2022.
